Day 118 - USA Tour - Las Vegas, NV

Overnight: Las Vegas, NV
Laundry Day

Last night we decided we'd stay another day here in Las Vegas to get the laundry done, work on the blog because we had a great signal, and kind of chill & rest from our late night on the town last night.

To keep the blog interesting, I have added a few more pictures of Vegas. Else, this entry would be just text--something I try to avoid whenever possible. So, here ya go!

First thing this morning, I got one entry done on the blog. Then, we decided to go to the cafe at the campground for breakfast. Big mistake. I think Dave's breakfast was OK. But, I was more than disappointed. First, I just hate it when a server grabs your coffee cup by the rim with all five fingers and then expects me to be pleased about putting my lips in the same place. I always wonder how servers can serve and yet not know anything about the etiquette of serving food. But, yes, I know I am very picky! Next, he delivers the syrup and instead of placing it on the table in a spot close to him, he reaches across my plate to set it on the table. Why? Who knows, but it was another pet peeve of mine. Finally, the French toast that I ordered must have been soaking for hours because it certainly was not cooked in the middle. It was just mush. Makes me gag thinking about it. I did eat the crust, but left all of the rest of it. OK. Enough of my complaining.

We walked around the campground's store for a bit. It was quite extensive. This place has a beautiful pool with lavish landscaping and it was quite a nice place to relax--not that we used the pool, mind you.

We drove out of the campground and filled up the gas tank as we will be leaving in the morning. And, with the destruction of the oil refineries from Hurricane Ike, we know the gas prices are going up every day.

Back at the RV, Dave helped me tote the laundry to the washeteria. Then, we came back to wait our 30 minutes for the wash to finish so that we could do the drying. By that time, Dave was sound asleep. So, I went down to fold it. Just before I was done, he appeared and helped me with the last bit of it and carried it back to the RV for me.

I sat down to work on the blog some more, and lo and behold, no service. And, this is more than annoying when you have to pay extra for it. I made a couple of calls to the service carrier and all they could tell me was that it wasn't working. So, my best laid plans were down the drain.

I couldn't even plan our next stop because I couldn't get on the Internet. So, I filled my day with reading, grumbling about the WiFi, watching TV, and grumbling about the WiFi. Hopefully, in the morning the WiFi will work so I can find a campground for tomorrow night.
