Well, today was a move-on day. We were up early to get ready. We did not have good enough drop on our sewer line at this park, so we had to drive to the dump site before leaving today. Always more difficult to do at the common area rather than at your own site. But, that’s the breaks.

We were on the road at 10 AM. We stopped at a couple of road side rests on our way to Minnesota. The terrain was almost mountainous, in spots. But, when we reached the crest of the hill, it leveled out into gentle rolling hills and more and more farms. We passed more Amish farmers. This area has an Amish community. But, since we have visited the Amish in Pennsylvania, we’ll not do that here.

Shock to Dave, but I had made sandwiches so we wouldn’t have to “drive-thru” anywhere for lunch with the RV in tow.

The drive was uneventful—a good thing. We arrived in Austin, MN, at approximately 2 PM. We have a nice site that is all grass. The campground even has a petting zoo, which we had hoped to go visit later when it cooled off. “I” decided that because they have a small cafĂ© at the campground, pizza sounded much better to “us” than my fixing chipped beef on toast. So, much to clean up when you are only staying for one night.

We hiked over to the commons building and ordered our pizza, which was really good. Dave also got American wings, which are breaded with no sauce.

As we were eating, the owner came over to us and informed us that he had led us to the incorrect camp site. Seems there were brothers that had already reserved the site we were in and the one next to it. So, you guessed it, they made us break down our camp and move to the site next to ours. I couldn’t believe it. What a royal pain. I haven’t seen Dave fume that much since we began our trip. He was really tired, and to set up and tear down twice within 3 hours was VERY disconcerting. Of course, I had to disassemble everything inside and put it all away so it wouldn’t bang around, and we had to pull in the slide-out as well.

Dave after learning that he had to tear down and set up camp again.

Needless to say, we didn’t make it back to the petting zoo. I will be asking for a discount in the morning when we go over for breakfast. So far, all they have offered is free donuts (which are free to everyone) and coffee--—whoop-de-doo.

This camp is really packed this weekend. They have quite the system here. Lots of water slides, golf carts for rent to get around, lakes to swim in, and a special event every weekend—this weekend is a magic weekend with a master magician appearing—and it’s all out in the middle of nowhere!

Before we walked back to our site, we purchased some Snicker’s Ice Cream, so I think I’ll fix a bowl of that and call it a night. Off to the SPAM Museum in the morning. Yikes, the thoughts of the foods in this sentence—SPAM and ice cream—now all I need are pickles.
