Day 19 - USA Tour - DePere, WI

Overnight: De Pere, WI
Kick-back Day

Today I slept in until 8:30 AM. Felt good, but when I awoke, I needed go-go juice. Dave was Johnny-on-the-spot with a great cup of coffee for me.

As for the day's activities, we just kicked back. I forgot to bring the playing cards, and we keep forgetting to buy them; otherwise, I'm sure I'd be beating Dave in Canasta.

So, instead, I did more crocheting. Dave puttered around outside and visited with a few neighbors. Then, he sat on the picnic bench and did a bit of drawing before being driven back inside due to the rain and high winds.

Another RV Lesson: In our quest to learn more about RV living, Dave has found the solution to taking "military" showers more often than we'd like. When we hook up to a campground's water supply, we attach a gauge to measure the pressure of the water. If it is more than 61 psi, we must leave the gauge on because it will keep the pressure from being too high. If it's too high, it could blow out the PVC lines in the RV. Because we have already had a "blown" water-line situation once this year, we certainly are not interested in another. If the water pressure is this high, we don't usually have low water pressure inside the RV. So, we're OK in this situation.

If the pressure is less than 60 psi, then we turn on the water faucet in the kitchen. If the flow is low, Dave can safely remove the gauge. With the gauge removed, this allows an unrestricted flow of water from the campground to the RV.

He's my hero! Washing my hair with one hand while holding a dribbling showerhead in the other hand is the pits. Of course, true to form, one solution leads to another concern: I have to be careful about taking showers that last too long because the gray water tank will fill up too fast. So, there ya go!

I made lunch and dinner yesterday. Of course, this left Dave in a state of shock. But, he got over it quickly. We settled in for another thrilling evening of TV. I have no idea what our plans are for tomorrow, but maybe the weather will clear and we can drive around to see what's here in the country. We do know that there is a Wal-Mart about 6 miles north--and that's an essential piece of knowledge.
