Day 85 - USA Tour - Missoula, MT

Overnight: Missoula, MT
Ancestor Research Day

Today we spent the day wrapping up our findings in Missoula. We drove to IHOP for breakfast.

Next stop was the courthouse to take a picture of the sheriff that arrested Antione in Glendive, MT, for horsestealing (of course, if you've read an ealier blog entry, you know the charges were later dropped).

Here's the sheriff.

After Dave spent so much time putting together his facts, we were missing one page of the baptism records. So, we wanted to get that information. In addition, Dave decided that he wanted a copy of the original French-Canadian records. We hoped that Rosemary Howard would be there so we could make those copies. She was, so we copied lots of pages like the following French page.

Notice that a "Migneault" entry is next to the last entry. In this entry, the priest spelled the name without an "e"; just one of the many examples of the alternate spellings that we find. The entry for Dave's grandfather's baptism was spelled "Migno."

I also realized that a lot of the pictures I had of the church interior did not come out very well. Therefore, I needed another photo session!

Here's some examples of the unique trim in the woodwork.

Our final stop for the day was a massive shopping experience at Wal-Mart. I don't know anything that is more tiring than grocery shopping! Off the shelf, in the basket, out of the basket, on to the conveyor, into the basket, out of the basket, into the car, out of the car, into the RV, onto the shelf! It's just tiring thinking about it!!

I reheated the leftover chicken and pasta dish that I had made about a week ago, which has been in the freezer. It hit the spot, but I think the pasta only added to our sleepies.

Well, I'm pooped, so will chill out with a bit of TV and a Dove Bar, and then I'll hit the hay. Nighty Night.
