Chris' Camp

Today we had the usual packing and dumping to take care of. Then, we were off at about 10 AM. We didn't want to hurry too much as we had only a few miles to go and couldn't get in too early.

We got to Spearfish and stopped for brunch at Perkin's restaurant.

We drove to Chris' Camp and got all set up in a grassy, shady spot. Check the tree in our campsite. See the hidden man?

There are no mosquitoes here. What a BIG plus. We spent the day planning our next few days activities and checking out the city. There is a Wal-Mart and Culver's within a couple of miles of the campground.

Speaking of the campground, we are in a camp that is hosting a BMW Motorcycle Rally. So, we are surrounded with motorcycles and a massive tent city. The camp and rally planners were expecting approx. 200 attendees. Over 400 showed up. So, they were packed in and the organizers had to spread their purchased food for 200 to over 400.

Speaking of motorcycles, we have seen so many folks our age traveling around on motorcycles--always makes me think of Brad and Corrine, our friends at church. Some riders are on 3-wheeled units towing a trailer. We contemplated trading in our unit for a 3-wheeler to save on gas expenses. But, common sense got the better of us!

The campground has several baby animals in a petting zoo: two cows, 2 kid goats, and 1 lamb. Sooooooo cute.

Made pizzas and salad for dinner. Not exciting, but beginning to fight a cold. So, downed my Arbonne Get Well Soon pills and went to bed. With a couple of days of taking those pills, I'll be good as new.
