Day 56 - USA Tour - Rapid City, SD

Overnight: Rapid City, SD
Chore Day

We have decided to stay here another day and get the "chores" done. I spent the day downloading pictures from the camera, catching up with the blog entries, entering receipts into the spreadsheet (trying to keep a tally, but not doing as well as I should), and paying bills. All very boring indeed.

In the late afternoon, we did laundry. So this was a very quiet day. We rested up from several days of heavy sightseeing and readied ourselves for the next leg of our trek.

For dinner I got out the crock pot and made that wonderful roast with mushroom and onion soup. We had to smell that all day. We were so hungry for it by the time it was done, I think we could have licked the pot. It was yummy.

Just so today's entry will not be totally boring, I have included a picture of one of Dave's South Dakota birds. I have no idea what it is; we call it the red-wing bird. Dave knows its true name, but I'm not interested enough to bother him from his TV watching to ask (he hates when I interrupt him with those head phones on). So, you can know it as the red-wing bird as well--for now.

Well, tomorrow we are off to a new location. So, we retired early in anticipation of a new experience.
